Dining and Nightlife

Suriname’s cuisine is the greatest legacy of our many ethnic groups, all brought together in a South American cooking pot. Check out our wonderful local restaurants. Try a Chinese Dim Sung breakfast or a roll with bakkeljauw (salt fish), or lunch on an East Indian roti (savoury pancake served with curried potatoes and chicken). For diner, try the famous Brown Beans with Rice.

You can find tasty local recipes to try at home on www.sranangkukru.net

An experience of Paramaribo by night includes a visit to one of the many international bars and nightclubs, or you can try your luck at one of the city’s numerous casinos. A website which will give you the ins and outs for dining & dancing is the Sugenda website: www.sugenda.com
